Cornas Syrah

Awesome aromas. Dark blackberries. Game. Meat. Olives. Garrigue. Smells thiccc! Wow what pure blackberry fruit. Palate is so good. Hedonistic Syrah fruit with huge crushing tannins that are perfectly ripe. This is a big boy. So slippery and sexy though. Amazing finish that is highly detailed and delineated. This is a blackberry bomb though at this early stage. Love it. Massive concentration and fruit soak. Awesome velvety and sweet tannins. Mineral/granite tinged finish. But needs air. As this airs the granite really comes through on the nose. Love these wines.

Lovely nose of granite infused dark and light berry fruit. Really complex and pure. Herbs and flowers as well. So expressive. But these wines always need a few hours to become aromatic bombs. Palate is pure, fresh and high toned. Dark berry fruit and huge granitic minerality. Energetic and vibrant. Needs an hour or two. 9.4 now but this score will go up. Big ripe juicy tannins. A big wine that shows how classic 16 is for Cornas. So elegant. This is right on the edge of 9.5, which it will become once it airs.

Really great. Opulent nose of black fruits, spice, mulberry, spice and granite. Round and deep. So alluring and inviting. Sexy. Palate is ripe but very fresh and elegant. Dazzlingly pure. Soft tannins and very good not great acidity make this very hedonistic. Terrific but 16:15 better.

Very ripe nose. Woo boy. Good meat, blood, game and feral character as well. Dark blackberry fruit and lovely granite tones. Smells opulent but also has a sense of refinement. Great nose. Palate is so so juicy and clean with stunning purity and freshness. So clean and has a wonderful lightness despite it being a big wine. It’s really graceful and elegant but also stacked and muscular. Velvety tannins and a finish that won’t quit. Incredible juiciness.

Nose is gorgeous game. Sexy as hell. ... as it opens gorgeous lavender.

Palate is grapy in a great way. Great balance. Fresh crushed in your mouth blackberries. Not super dark or brooding. Nice grippy texture. Super fresh.

Long finish with some blackberry licorice.

So young. This could be 95ish good in 5 years. An elegant wine.

Still young. Beautiful nose. At various stages game. Lilacs. Palate is so elegant and such sweet fruit. Some cherry licorice. Lovely texture. Long finish. Wow. This is very good now. Will likely be even better.

What a nice Syrah. Surprisingly ready to go with a 4 hour decant. But the tannins are quite moderate in a way I wasn’t quite expecting. Lots of dark berry. Some olive and earth. Nice acid. Delicious wine.
