Oct 7th, 2021Selected from several Terroirs of the Pays d’Or. Straw with tropical fruit aromas. On the palate tropical and pineapple flavors with smoke and spice notes. The finish has big acidity and ends with a touch of sweet spice. Drink now! Tasting Sample!

Dec 21st, 2018Straw gold in the glass. Quince and hay on the rustic nose; echoed on the palate with a trace of birchy mint. A bit of grippy texture on the mouthfeel. Medium full body. Medium acidity. Medium short finish. Subdued fruit typical of the Old World without approaching the austerity of Burgundy. This is a good middle ground when you want to drink now, but don’t want typical California (or Chilean) “over-the-top”-ness.

Feb 25th, 2018Bastille Day is this coming Saturday the 14th of July. It’s France’s National Day which is the anniversary of the storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789, a turning point of the French Revolution, as well as the Fête de la Fédération which celebrated the unity of the French people on 14 July 1790. Aka it’s a good excuse to line up some French vino this weekend 😉
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To help celebrate I’ve teamed up with Kollaras to try a few of their French 🇫🇷 wines which they distribute here in Australia. This #sample of the Maison Castel 2016 Chardonnay both Mr Spittoon and I really enjoyed.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s a pale lemon shade in the glass. Delicate notes of lemon curd, white flowers and stonefruit rise from the glass. While in the mouth it’s smooth, elegant and fresh with wonderful white peach and nectarine flavours. Very, very easy to drink 👌
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #tcweekdaywine
