Macari
Reserve North Fork Merlot
A delightful wine, perfect for winter sipping, and a real find from the north fork of Long Island. Concentrated dark fruit aromas with some graphite and rosemary, supple mouthfeel full of dark fruit and sweet spices, nice acidity and dusty tannins to make it old world in style. Long finish.

Dec 21st, 2014First Cved months ago for Wilson’s visit and couldn’t overcome the non Merlots. Opened 10/14/21 and it has a nice mature mushroom dark fruited nose especially after some initial funkiness blew off. Lean acidic balance into the finish with good firm texture. Good AA find.

Oct 14th, 2021This merlot changed my opinion of the grape. Macari is one of my favorite North Fork vineyards, and this is one of their best. And that’s coming from a someone who usually avoids merlot.

Nov 22nd, 2019Very much in the character of a right bank Bordeaux. Nose secondary note dominated with cedar, eucalyptus, dried herbs, and pleasant green notes. But good plummy fruit as well, with some raspberry notes. Round and smoothe on the palate with more red cherry fruit and a hint of new oak coconut and vanilla, cbut very well integrated. Finishes lush with good structure and acidity. Still with a couple of years of development to go.
