On the top end of just OK. This guy can produce some wines in France but maybe going outside might be a step ambitious. I don't know what it is about French winemakers trying to stick to a single grape sometimes. They are masters of blending, so why not stick to it?
The wine is a touch flat for what it is until you let it open. After that, it comes to life. If you want to really enjoy it, don't concentrate on the nose. Swish like you would an Italian Barbera, and let the black pepper and blackberry come out.

Deep purple with a slight inky center. Quick legs. Plum and slight herbal nose. Maybe eucalyptus. Medium bodied. Medium spice. Dark berry on the palette.

Pure ... beautiful Shiraz... dark fruits and sage aromas. This one surprised me because of its purity and sheer pleasure. It was an Aussie Shiraz but it had so much class and so easy to drink...
