On the top end of just OK. This guy can produce some wines in France but maybe going outside might be a step ambitious. I don't know what it is about French winemakers trying to stick to a single grape sometimes. They are masters of blending, so why not stick to it?
The wine is a touch flat for what it is until you let it open. After that, it comes to life. If you want to really enjoy it, don't concentrate on the nose. Swish like you would an Italian Barbera, and let the black pepper and blackberry come out. — 10 years ago
