Beautifully evolved cdp. I always prefer this to croix de bois. Lovely ruby color with aromas of red plum, kirsch, fig, anise and baking spices. A little bit of dusty earth as well. On the palate it is suave and not aggressive in the least. I am really beginning to prefer the less ripe and flamboyant vintages like 2011 and 2006. This is a prime example

PnP, it’s still quite closed and very young. Highly fragrant with raspberries, herbs, licorice. Very pleasing. On palate it’s very smooth, but can still feel the heat upon entry. I think a couple more years would do wonder to this wine, because the secondary notes are clearly amazing, but not worth paying for the price at the current age. Significantly improved after 90 min in decanter. Still, don’t buy a CdP younger than 12 years again!
