Morgon Gamay

Elegant. Nuanced just-ripe cherry, cranberry rose petal nose, and sumptuous bright but ripe red fruit and licorice on the palate. Body is beguiling, texture is so rich.

Barely a 9.0. Perfectly pleasant Morgon but for $40, I could buy far better red wine.

Annual reminder to drink more of these. So good.

Delicate, red berry, slight grip…. Just a very delicious bottle of gamay.

Tart but juicy red fruit, fallen leaves, clove and granite. Finish is just a touch funky and volatile. Great acidity and low but grippy tannins. Felt bit lighter than some other recent vintages. Not the bottle I would pick to introduce someone to this important producer, but still an excellent wine. 🍓🍂🐎
