This definitely has more in common with Loire Cab Franc than Bordeaux Cab Franc. Black cherry and a hint of machine oil, with a very slight vegetal note on the nose. The palate is open and velvety soft. You have to concentrate to discern a little super-fine-grained tannin submerged in the fruit. Speaking of fruit, there’s Loire-like, barely ripe black cherry. Eminently gulpable. Would be a great backyard burger wine.

Jan 27th, 2024Funk at first, deep nose, rhubarb, dark cherry, leather, red moss? The nose is deceptively deep at first, but the wine isn’t heavy, it’s meaty on the palate, slightly chewy, dark fruits and savory notes. Chinon in Stellenbosch.
Excellent vino.
Only seven barrels. Put up in “ old French oak”. Very interesting. I bet some more more time would help with the pronounced drying.
Thanks@Garagiste
