Cavanna Barbaresco Nebbiolo

Lovely wine. Closed on day 1, not surprising given its youth. Day 2, lovely nose, nice flavor and tannins are there but controlled. Will enjoy watching other bottles evolve if I can keep my hands off them!

One of the tip crus but unknown by most

Sweet & sour cherries, cinnamon, cloves, pronounced oak, mushroom and forest floor. Totally enjoyable!

Nebbiolo makes me want to hug everyone. 2010 is presenting so beautifully. Dried Victoria plum, dried strawberries, funk, tar, bruised purple flowers.

Red roses, cherry cola, eucalyptus, mint, thyme, cigar box. Perfect acid/smooth velvet tannin balance. Deceptively full bodied, silky texture, long herbal/slightly peppery finish.

Great summer wine.

The nose is very cologne esque. The palate is a bit underwhelming. Maybe some cellar time?

If a well-used barn was filled with cherries and roses...

Very pretty and intriguing nose. Not perfumed, but very intense violets and scorched earth. Lacks depth and complexity. Very good wine.

Classic and beautiful barbaresco hot and gritty tar and roses. 5 years old and ready to drink after she breathes. What an intense old bloody chocolate color! Opening today for Kyle WhoDrinks birthday!
