Natural wine exists in Australia. And this is it. Anton van Klopper is the grower/winemaker - and his daughter is the Lucci (or Lucy, really) of the name - and the designer of the labels. The wine, you ask? A highly drinkable blend of fruit, earth, and freshness. Minimal SO2 additions, whole-cluster fermentation, no mucking around with added acidity or anything else. It's earthy, fruity, gluggable goodness. (Note: Anton knows his stuff. He graduted first in his class at the fancy Aussie Roseworthy wine school. He hates to admit this, but he did.)

Tremendous nose, cherries thyme, apples, so much to take in. Delicate and well balanced throughout.

One of the best, most exciting New World wines I've had in quite some time. Oranges, Maraschino cherries (the artificially red ones, not them fancy ones), and stemmy green notes. Invigorating acid and minimal tannin, but there's still good concentration and weight. Refreshing in a way few New World reds are.

Interesting however for me, the overwhelming tomato plant aroma was insurmountable.

So aromatic and fresh, unlike any Australian red wine I've ever tasted.
