I am always amazed at how good these old martini wines can be. This wasn’t just good for its age, it was just good.
Great color/still sweet on the mouth/nice finish.
The vast majority of these old wines from them that I’ve had have been at worst good with several like this one being very impressive

This was great. Tannins have subdued into their most elegant form without losing their rustic profile, integrated. Acidity is spot on, this is alive and well right now for its age. Dried shiitake, beef broth, leather, wet tobacco, muddled red and black fruits, blck pepper. Theres some wet earth too. Assuming its at least half Petite Syrah and all from Monte Rosso?? Great bottle.

Wow, 58 years old. Brick colored, a salty almost sherries sense, yet a freshness and still a sense of life. Cinnamon stick, dried herbs, still some juiciness.
