Clos des Ormes Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Wanted this to be better. A nice wine but not spectacular. Over Oaked in my opinion. A little less balanced than many burgundies we’ve drink lately.

Decanted, notes from 1 hr open. On the nose: soft cocoa, game, wild strawberry, soft baking spice...very Morey. On the palate: lovely acidity, cocoa, sweet plum, excellent density. Juiciness builds, and turns into white pepper, sweet strawberry, and then very finely grained tannin on the gripping finish.
