Color is surprisingly dark and a bit violet. Super eathy and woody nose, layered with plum, shoe polish and some serious berries. Tannins are nowhere near being integrated and are striking hard. Decanting helped a bit, but still, oh so early for this one. Everything about this bottle is promising — superb ageing potential, great structure and suffocated aromas that need time. It felt like I woke up a grumpy old man that only had 2 hours of sleep but if you let him rest he will be your best friend forever. I have a bad case of premature bottle opening, it seems — promised myself to leave the rest of the case to rest for at least a couple of years.
