This is one serviceable Cotes du Rhone with great earthy minerality for $11 bucks.

Screwtop, so convenient. 14.5% ABV. Lipstick and wine colored nail polish red. Smells tart and Grenache sassy. Flavors are also heavy on the acid with a smooth and simple flavor profile. There’s licorice in there, plenty of cherry and berry too. Liquors. It’s good, but it feels stripped down. A bit too easy. Not as inspired as some of my favorite Côtes du Rhône out there, but cheap and satisfying.

🇫🇷 Smooth medium body blend of Grenache and Syrah grapes 🍇 with taste of cherry 🍒. From the winemaker : to be served 2 - 4 years after being bottled. I would pair with almost anything. I am thinking cold cuts and cheese 🧀 platter with olives and veggies.

Every once in awhile I like to go out of my comfort zone and try something new. Unfortunately, this did not work out for me. The low rating is based on my snobby palate and for those of you who like a wine that tastes earthy with mild tannins then this is for you. Not bold enough for me.
