Very accessibly priced mass-market #mosel #riesling was nevertheless delicious served cold outdoors at a local Thai restaurant we love and they had a 1/2 off wine bottle special. Served in an ice-bucket, it was perfectly chilled as we were dining outside in the sweltering Houston evening heat. We could enjoy this Riesling as it warmed from ice-cold to just cool. I had honestly forgotten how good this varietal smells: white floral, lemon curd, ripe stone fruit, but not singing as loudly as the better examples from the region. Sweetness so perfectly set against bright acidity, nice viscosity in the palate, clean minerality through the finish. It really picked up the tamarind in the chicken and even some lime squeezed over my Thai sausage appetizer. The cliché of Riesling with spicy food proves out beautifully here.

This is a terrible Riesling it is sooo sweet! It reminds me of a bad moscato. Will never buys this again.
