Lonia
Brut Cava Blend
I spotted this Spanish Cava at Chateau Guildford Cellarbrations for $24 on the weekend. After trying my way through over 50 Cavas in 2011 I haven't come across this one before so I just had to try it (my Cava resume: http://travellingcorkscrew.com.au/50-great-cavas-2011/).
Golden star like quality on the eye, with a lovely stream of constant bubbles. Camomile tea and apples on the nose with a floral (dandelions) and citrus touch. Smooth mouthfeel with a light fruity flavour and a touch of elderflower infused lemon curd on toast. Not bad for a fizzy tipple!
