A big thank you to Logan Wines in Orange for sending us this sample to try. We enjoyed it Adam aperitif in the late arvo 💛

It’s a cloudy pale pastel colour in the glass. Notes of fresh pear, salt air and citrus peel rise from the glass. In the mouth it’s dry, fresh and moreish with
good acidity that leaves your mouth salivating for more.

My parents are big fans of Logan Wines. They have visited the cellar door in Orange, NSW and they have a good stash of Logan reds in their cellar.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Which is why I was very excited to try the new release ‘Clementine’ range from Logan. The range is inspired by and named after winemaker, Peter Logan’s daughter, Clementine Minnie Logan.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Inspired by the sea, the pristine cold climate growing region of Orange and the sweet and sassy poppet Clementine”.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This 2018 Clementine de la mer is a blend of chardonnay (48%), sauvignon blanc (37%) and riesling (15%). It’s pretty unique as the juice is left to ferment on the skins which isn’t the norm when making white wine (much to Peter Logan’s surprise due to the high quality of wine this method can produce). When this technique is employed it can produce wines which are interesting, complex and age well.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We enjoyed this beach baby with some homemade fish tacos 🌮 🐟👌
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s a cloudy yet bright wheat yellow colour in the glass. Notes of lemon 🍋 citrus, creamy custard, florals and a hint of passionfruit rise from the glass. While in the mouth there’s mouthwatering pineapple, melon and orange peel with a sprinkling of sea salt as the tasting notes promised. I felt like I was transported to the seaside while sipping on this deliciously tasty vino.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!
