Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.

Fruity nose with black currants, plums, bell pepper, cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, herbs, spices, earth, wet leaves, pencil lead, tobacco leaf and peppercorn.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with plums, cherries, black currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, herbs, dark chocolates, vinaigrette, spices, green vegetables, pencil lead and peppercorn.

Long finish with firm tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a nice Portuguese blend from the house of Dave Phinney. Well balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food. Earthy and fruity at the same time.

Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up.

I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers.

A blend of Touriga National, Touriga Franca and Trincadeira. Aged in French and American oak barrels.

15% alcohol by volume.

Dark ruby in color with a short purple rim.

Fruity nose of blackberries, black currants, plums, bell pepper, cherries, earth, oak, vanilla, cloves, tobacco, coffee, licorice, spices, chocolates, bitter vegetables, smoke and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, raspberries, earth, green vegetables, beef jerky, spices, olives, coffee, bitter herbs, oak, vanilla licorice and peppercorn.

Medium plus on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a nice Red Blend from Portugal. Well balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food. Showing lots of black fruits and earthiness that compliments both the nose and the palate. Has nice complexity, but a little bitter for my taste.

Needs a couple of hours to open up properly and remove the stinky notes that come right out of the bottle. I used the Vspin for 20 minutes and that took care of it.

A blend of Touriga Nacional, Trincadeira and Touriga Franca grapes. Aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels.

This is a great Orin Swift red blend from Portugal. Spicy and full bodied with medium acidity.

Showing black fruits with earth, oak, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, mocha, light vegetables, pencil lead and peppercorn.

Good right out of the bottle and good for parties.

Alcohol is very integrated although very high, so watch out.

The wine is dark and juicy, with black currant and black raspberry aromas, but the nose has a distinct savory side to it, with cedar, olives, smoke and sassafras. The palate brings a textbook darkness, with earth for miles and miles and miles. It's just about pitch black, and that's okay, because I've got a flashlight. There is a heavy note of oak spice, a tongue-teasing acidity and a tannic structure that demands meat, make that steak, make that ribeye.

Has a very nice flavor. Easy drinking and fruity. Clean and light. Should be drank in on sitting, doesn't need extra breathing and gets detrimentally worse as time goes by.

Spicy blend that opened up over an hour. Not bad - Locations are always reliable

This one is fun for me. Deep ruby color with loads of fruit and spice. Picture spicy Redvine licorice.

So, not our favorite. Better after the 1/2 hr decant. Currant, cranberry (?), white pepper, lemon rind.
