Very high level of aromatics! Smoke, poop and “pleasant” rubber on nose leads into bright, crunchy red fruit with nice, bitter tang of stem and orange peel, smoke and peppercorn. Light, unfiltered haze. Just super Gamay that’s not quite Beaujolais.

12.8%. Bien Nacido vineyard. Open knit. quite light but sneaky concentration. Spicy whole cluster wild raspberry eucalyptus juice. Reminds me of the Brickhouse gamay/pinot blend that I like so much. This is great. Drink slightly chilled. Pair with Greek feta.

Sep 21st, 2021This is a fantastic CA gamay. Some domestic gamay just leans heavily toward being very Pinot Esque, others are fruit bombs, etc. this was super different. Not Beaujolais, not Cali Pinot. Seek this stuff out.

I was very skeptical even though this bottle came highly recommended. How could can Gamay really be. The answer is extraordinary. This fresh, funky wine was very complex with a finish that continues unendingly. The dried cherry is there but I’m the background. A wine that @Ted Corvey would love.
