I was expecting basic Napa chardonnay with this one, but I was wrong! It has a lovely delicate nose - butterscotch, white pear, grapefruit, hydrangea flowers, and vanilla bean on the nose. The pallet showed refreshing acidity, and conservative use of oak and malo. Fresh gala apple, mulling spices, honeysuckle, Meyer Lemon, and a soft buttered finish. It makes a lovely food wine to go with creamy pastas or seabass for sure, but stand alone it was begging to be called Mersault. I need to figure out where exactly in Napa they have sourced for this Estate Reserve.. $42, definitely worth it.

Jan 20th, 2017We had this on 10/26/17. A nice gold color. While I do not detect much fruit, there are tastes of oak, butter and vanilla. There is a nice texture. No bite on a smooth finish.

Oct 26th, 2017Amazing wine! Mellow fruit with well balanced oak. Paired with roasted Marcona almonds, seasoned olives and goat cheese salad!
