Nose has Anjou pear peel, white Carnations, sliced quince, cold yellow apple slice, slight green herbals (crushed celery), steel cut oats with faint vanilla notes.
Palate has ripe pear, (light) under-ripe apricot, light honey, (light) under-ripe pineapple core, slight strawberry, faint oak influence with mild acidity.
Honestly, this needs some time or considerable decant; revisit 2024+?

I think it is a delicious wine, but I agree with some of the others here that the acidity leaves you puckering and saliving a wee bit much. Hints of reduction. Oak is well integrated. Nervy. #macon#vireclesse

Loved everything I’ve tried from this label (the Dominique Lafon Maconnais project). This is very aromatic with lots of creamy lemon and apricot with some oak spice and flint, ripping acid, not terribly long but intense. Fine stuff for the category. Vire-Clesse? More like Very Classy!! Am I right? Ok I’ll show myself out
