Very nice “baby Lafon” for that weeknight white burg fix. Little bit of butter, green apple/pear, bitter grapefruit and quinine finish. Not winning any awards for length, concentration or complexity but thoroughly enjoyable.

Lafon's Maconnais continue to excite & deliver. Floral & light tropical aromatics are unrelenting. The palate has a stunning balance of fruit & acid. Fresh mouthfeel that makes savoring this a difficult thing to do.

Simply cannot leave these alone. Vintage or producer. Tense & precise.

Crisp, fresh Macon. More about freshness & tension than texture or aromatics. Shows depth to some citrus notes as it opens up. Enjoyment trumps complexity here.

Pretty good but not entirely my cup of tea. Seemed to be a bit leesy if that's a word. But still enjoyed it fairly balanced and not too heavy.

2012: Subdued nose, probably reflecting the state of this bottle. Very crisp acidity, yet not austere. Nice spike of lovely lemon lime fruit, with a little bite. A somewhat metallic and glossy finish. Happy to see how this develops.

Smells like sulfur and old moldy wood and rotting green apple. Yeasty. Acid out of whack. Hollow. Finish is all wood and yeast and green apple. 2010 vintage. Maybe past its prime?
