Absolutely gorgeous showing with some great years ahead of it. Roasted cherry, Chambord, strawberry confit, crushed plum, truffles, garrigue, stones, porcini, sandalwood, lavender. Sublimely elegant with aroma/flavor for days with well-postured tannins holding it all up.

True knockout! Powerful, dense, opulent, exotic-- I can think of many superlatives to describe the 2005. Simply a bombastic and unapologetic wine with loads of fruit and great tension, this flooded my palate with power and complexity. This has at least another 10 years of superb drinking in store, it almost pains me that we opened it so young but it was an absolute delight to drink with braised duck and lamb meatballs. A top-notch vintage from a true master of the Southern Rhone. Well worth seeking out, you can confidently hold this vintage for several more years.

Few hours in the decanter. Deep rich red fruit, with tar and tannins on the finish. This is mostly Grenache and that's evident. Can hold for several years but drinking well now.

Jan 1st, 2017Wow! Absolutely phenomenal. The color was great. The nose was fresh, powerful, incredibly complex, and full of exotic sweet fruit. The palate was in amazing shape with a firm but refined structure and nice tension. The balance was absolutely perfect showing off layers of sweet and perfectly ripe fruit, spice, flowers, and earth that stayed on the palate for minutes.
