I found this wine to be absolutely charming for the price and the style. I was very intrigued to try a sparkling wine from Bordeaux and made with mostly Semillon. It does have that somewhat heavier texture you get from Semillon and but is still pretty bright with apple and citrus notes.

Apr 16th, 2016Vanilla extract and a bit of funk on the nose. Course mousse which quickly dissipates. Blend of 70% Semillon, 20% Muscadelle, and 10% Sauvignon Blanc made by méthode champenoise. 12.5% alcohol. Little sparkling wine is coming out of Bordeaux nowadays but this is a nice bargain sparkler.

One of my birthday wines, so the memory fades a bit! I remember lots of raspberry with a crisp but slightly creamy finish. (I know, contradictory!) great acidity and a killer price!
