When tasting 2 older vintages (‘01 and ‘03), one common trait was that they were both herbaceous. This ‘16 has that quite prominent herbaceous note as well, but a bit fresher. Light green veggie note as well. Ripe fruits and well integrated oak provide nice counter balance.
Will age beautifully.

Blackcurrant/blackcurrant leaves, herbs, licorice root, oaky vanilla. Sinewy tannins that could use a little more time. Handles the ribeye with ease. Tough on a 90 degree night of grilling.

Lots of acidity, not much body nor length.... bottle variation? Nothing like the descriptions I read here. Quite disappointing really. Will give it another chance another day...
