I love this old school wine. Macerated chokecherry, a balsamic note, gravelly earth. A touch of V.A. Minerally and intense, great acidity, lots of savory flavors.

This is a supremely enjoyable Chianti. Fabulous nose: raspberry (!) and macerated cherry, a funky yeasty (sponti?) note, dry gravel and crushed rock, baking spices. Chiseled in the mouth, with loads of minerality, great acids, and a long, drying finish where cherry and crushed stone both try to outlast each other. Some decent fine-grained tannin to create structure. Great now, and will get better over the next 2-3 years. Classic.

Excellent chianti, especially at $14. Cherry, sage, and leather flavors. Opened for 30 minutes prior to drinking.

This is real chianti. Full, tart and rich. 13.5% but it's not noticeable or hot at all.
