Moderate garnet color with brick colored rim. Red cherry, red currants, cinnamon, and hints of dried herbs on the nose. Ripe red fruit on the palate with high alcohol, firm acidity, fine grained tannins, and peppery finish of moderate length. Nicely complimented a beef bourguignon. Drinking very well right now.

1 person found it helpfulMar 12th, 2017Chateauneuf-du-Pape is one of favorite French wines and this iteration is certainly an excellent example. Full bodied, well balanced, smooth and so good with foods. Meats, cheeses, crusty breads, or just by itself. Plenty of fruit, very little tannins and the perfect amount of time in the bottle since this variety doesn’t really lend itself to aging. Really doesn’t need much decanting.

Oct 31st, 2023A delightful, full-bodied Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Apologies for the cling-filmed dinner in the background!
