It's time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a nice one from Napa Valley.
Dark ruby in color with a nice reddish rim.
Fruity nose with blackberries, sweet cherries, figs, earth, raisins, vanilla, cedar, tobacco, chocolates, vegetables and black pepper. A very nice nose.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, leather, earth, vanilla, licorice, spices, tobacco, chocolates, light vegetables, pencil lead and peppercorn.
Long tangy finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a delicious 7 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Coombsville. Showing nice complexity with a great nose and a soft mouthfeel.
This Single Vineyard from a great vintage is drinking very nicely now. This is not the big and bold Napa Cabernet, but rather elegant and restrained. Will age nicely in the next 10 years.
Good by itself as a sipping wine. A good wine to talk about with friends.
I let it open for 90 minutes, and it was well worth the wait, although it is tasty right out of the bottle, too.
I paired it with Brie cheese and roasted almonds.
Aged for 24 months in 30% New French oak barrels. Only 196 cases produced.
Only 13.5% alcohol by volume, which is very unique for a Napa Cabernet from this vintage.

Big perfumed nose! Very soft tannins. Not bold enough for my palette.
