Impressive for its youthful exuberance, especially given that this is a 2016 second wine.
Notes of coffee, menthol and cherries on the nose. Dark chocolate gives way to bright tannins and taut acidity. Nice texture and weight on the mid palate. Finishes like a much younger wine. Right up my street. On the 95 bubble.

Beautifully plush, juicy, with ripe red fruits indicative of this Merlot-dominant blend, and that wonderful vegetal quality of well ripened and integrated Cabernet Franc. Aged only 15 months in one year old barrels previously used for first wine Angelus. Plums, cassis, tomato leaf, capsicum, white pepper, graphite. Fruit-driven, yet well structured. Delicious!
