Past its prime yet still offering seductive and mature, dark fruit flavors, acidic presence and lively tannins. The lack of mid-palate fruitiness and width create a hollowness and shortens the finish. Ambitious but way better 5+ years ago.

Bit the bullet and scooped this one up from a bottle shop in Kobe. Always a gamble buying decent wine here in Japan because you know you're paying a 30% premium. Decanted for an hour but unfortunately this was a bit over the hill. Opaque ruby color with considerable sediment. Reductive aromas of stewed red fruits, raisins, and salty notes. Flavors of canned cherry pie filling and dried fruit. Tannins are still there, but the fruit has lost nearly all its luster. Going to wait another 30 min just in case my assessment is a bit premature!

Wine was drinking beautiful. Reminded me of a high acid St. Joseph

Delicious Paso GSM. Light and crisp with lots of red fruit and minerals. Lovely crisp tannins. A little tight out of the bottle that opens up nicely after about 15 to 20 minutes.
