Very pleasant, true to type, and very inexpensive.

It’s too soon to be opening a 2019. But I did it anyway. Very youthful, loads of dark fruit, baking chocolate, leather, truffle, hint of smoke. Tannins are tight, need probably 2+ years from now to be drinking well. Tastes a little hard press-y. But overall a nice wine, good Northern Rhône character.

Big and bold, but very polished. Massive tannins that are too much without food. Needs time - best on day 3.

Dark garnet right to the edge with a nose of black plum & blackberry with a touch of earth. In the mouth slightly fruit forward with same fruit as on the nose. Medium body, mild acidity, low tannins, nice finish.

Lovely! Had it blind and couldn’t pin it, which makes sense because I almost never drink marsanne. Just ripe white peach, bright acidity, some floral notes and really good oxidative notes which to me came across as salinity more than nuttiness, a bit like fino sherry. Great wine!

Modern but still manages to retain authenticity.

Dark juicy plums is the first impression out of the gate. There’s a cassis thing going on here...just don’t know where to place it. Finishes off with some lovely and chewy light-weight tannins. Wait around long enough and smoked bacon is definitely part of the mix. Not a hint of heat at 14.5% ABV. Its unabashed youthfulness is a finger in the eye to its more serious—but expensive—Hermitage sister. Buy a case and drink over the next five years. It won’t get much better but who cares? It’s already there.
