Napa Valley Merlot Cabernet Franc

Merlot/Cab Franc blend. Great balance of fruit and earth, plush but gripping tannin. Merlot brings the softness and dark fruit, Cab franc brings the grip and the earth. Expressive nose, long finish right out of the bottle. Would only do better with more time and air.

2012 vintage

Lateral is a great blend as usual. I was surprised though that the 2012 is really loosing its fruit. I would drink now ( I was saving some of the case for later)

Napa valley style. Clean and fruit driven. Touch of oak and touch of wine snob. Black fruits. Ripe.

Great wine.

Dark cherries and plum, very drinkable and medium bodied.

Exactly what I want from a California red. Plums, dark cherries, tobacco, and dark chocolate. Good acid and well integrated oak.

Always good. Full red. Drinks well.

Lateral

Black currant, plum jam, dark chocolate covered cherry, star anise, coffee bean. Med + body, pronounced tannins. Bold, youthful, chewy on palate. Needs more time but has a great potential. Definitely age worthy wine!

Pre Marathon Wine. Great drinker. Good nose and full body
