Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2005 pours a deep ruby/purple color with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and signs of fine sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of overripe and desiccated dark fruit: cassis, blackberry, plum, leather, earth and spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin (integrated) and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. This is mostly tertiary at this point and the structure is crumbling. Drink now and enjoy the wine in its sunset.

Mar 28th, 2021Pungent nose of blueberry jam, laced with nutmeg and cinnamon. The mid-palate is defined by its robust tannic structure. The detail of the presentation is the main feature of this wine. It’s chiseled and possesses good depth. It brings a lovely black fruit profile, coupled with a persistent finish. This has runway ahead of it.
