Lamborn Family Vineyards
Proprietor Grown Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
@Ron R 2008 Lamborn Gamily Vineyards
As we all know., Ron is insanely great at posting the absolute best tasting notes!! I'm not really sure how to begin describing a wine that he's already talked about BUT what the hell...I'll give it a shot! Here it goes:
EVERYTHING that he said was True.
Good night 👌🍷🍷👌
Just kidding! I'm not letting you off that easy!
This was was Insanely Focused. Decanted 2 hours and it was just beginning to reveal itself. My 1st time ever enjoying this Heidi project. The Howell Fruit is amazing. Focused with globs of depth and concentration. I love the initial explosion of Berry & I think dark cherries??...,,all nicely wrapped in a beautiful Oak blanket! I love the mid palate and finish. I told Ron., if this was a song it would be the bohemian Rhapsody. Perfectly orchestrated., it lifts you up., brings you down and takes forever to finish!! Ok., I gave it all I've got Captain! Lol

Brilliance in a glass.
Always a go-to for us on special occasions. Plush, round and a touch extravagant. Enuf said...

Our favorite Napa cab...
The nose is complicated to the max. Notes of blueberry compote, and creme de cassis dominate.
The palette is rich, thick and layered with cherries, exotic spices and espresso - it's intense with a lovely expansive finish.
This has at least another 15 years of runway ahead of it, and its trajectory is stratospheric. In my opinion, if you enjoy your wines when they are in their prime, strike now.
PS - Heidi Barrett of Screaming Eagle fame is the winemaker.

Awesome! Brooding char behind beautiful cab fruit. Refined tannins. This is what Howell Mountain terroir means to me.

Oct 30th, 2016Thank you @Ron R for the recommendation. This is a winner. I feel I opened too early l. Plenty of time to go. 2025 this I believe will be softer. With that I like this now. Tannins are right. Nose is rich dark grapes. Tastes are strong blackberries with a cherry kicker. Thx again Ron.
So a day later with the bottle left uncorked in a cool dark place. Still amazingly strong. This is a 20 year wine. Yea Lamborn.
