2006 vintage poured on New Years Eve 12-31-21. Although past its prime, still enjoyable. Some fruit on the palate with solid tannins. Worked with beef tenderloin dinner.

I purchased 12 bottles of this wine and opened probably 10 of them to early. They were too powerful. FINALLY I opened my last bottle at what I believe is the right time. Full bodied and well balanced, but it took time to get there.

This one is for @Shay Aldriedge. Love Howell mountain and hadn't had this producer before. Popped and poured and was immediately hit with cherry and cola flavors. Surprised at how tight this wine was after 11 years in the bottle. After an hour in the glass it was starting to hit its stride with more of the black fruit coming through. Would love to revisit this wine in another year and giving it a minimum 1 hour decant. It's well balanced but I didn't give it a fair shot straight out of the bottle.
