This wine has a yellow-gold color in the glass with nice clarity. The nose is incredible. Minerality is the star, but there is a streak of salinity that comes across with a soapy, lanolin note. The fruit is largely apricot and Meyer lemon. On the palate, there is an explosion of stone fruit and minerality. The acidity is brisk and the finish is long and savory. This is a big white wine, one with personality to spare.

Best packaging in the world? High octane with waxy lemons, creamy guava and pineapple, plus herbs and candied white flower petals.

2021 vintage.
100 % Timorasso from hillside villages in Piedmont of Montemarzino, Montegioco and Monleale grown between 350-400 meters in Calcareous marls and clay soil.
Stainless steel fermented then rested 8 months on the lees before bottling.
Bright gold and green in the glass.
White honey, quince, pear skin and almond.
The texture is waxy yet minerality on the fresh finish.

Very clean. A bit off dry. Feels very well made, lacks a bit of character.

Don’t remember the last time I drank a Timorasso, so it was good to get reacquainted with what many wine critics consider the best Italian white variety.
Aromatic nose of apricot, lime, green apple, honeysuckle, and light white floral. Medium to full body with very good texture and sharp acidity. There is a streaking salinity that leads to an intense finish.
I believe this is the only bottling (Moscato aside) from the winery that does not see oak. First vintage is 2019. Derthona is the ancient name for the town Tortona - like Chianti.
