Big. Really big. Fruit, alcohol, acid, tannin. Lots of all of it. Touch of volatile acidity, or "balsamic" notes to the Brits.

Decent starter Priorat - very young, exuberant and unrestrained. Inky dense opaque, big dark fruit profile but one dimensional. This lacked the mineral & schist, Earth driven elements I look for in these wines. Solid structure & modest polish thru mid palate to finish.

Open the day before or decant thoroughly. Priorat is best enjoyed after 5-10 years, but sometimes we can’t wait. A fruit basket. Black and red cherry, berries: ripe strawberry, blackberry, black raspberry. Black and red plum, white pepper, toast, vanilla, dried earth.
