Solid. Needs some air, but then perfumey cherry liqueur and some gravel and spice notes. Full in the mouth, though not particularly concentrated. A little bit of peppery heat on the finish (15%!). Good with chicken cacciatore.

A fave Rosso di Montalcino. Nice cherries & earth, good acidity. Enjoyed with Brodetto.

The aroma is simpler and not as developed as Lisini but has balsamic/resinous nuance that authenticates its origin. Has the authoritative substance and appropriate amount of acidity that signals an excellent vintage. Also more transparent and livelier than Lisini.
