Apr 19th, 2014100% Moscato Bianco, this wine is a wonderful expression of the underrated valleys around Aoste. Chambave Muscat from "La Crotta di Vegneron" shows very light-bodied yellow color, with almost greenish nuances. Shortly after opening, it has clear scents herbs, thyme and sage, and yellow fruits, especially peach and apricot, with a net tendency toward sweet and ripened fruits. Its taste, however, is relatively different, showing a consistent dry body, joined with an elegant sapidity. The aftertaste is long and persistent, with herbaceous notes.
An interesting product, it may be a bit unbalanced but it makes a perfect pairing with some fresh seafood (especially grilled sea fish) or the local cheese of the region, "Fontina".
