Sabazio Rosso di Montepulciano Sangiovese Blend

Close to what classic Vino Nobile di Montepulciano used to be like before it became over-priced in the early to mid-2000's. Balanced without being too-smooth; retains a nice acidic "bite"; tart cherry, a touch of cranberry. A real value wine at what I'd paid ($14) in Arizona.

Forrest floor, cherries and old Slovenian oak.. Black fruits and truffle..

2008 Vintage. Initial cork on nose! Still waiting for it to blow off! I wonder how many chefs blue bandages the winemaker chucked in the barrel?

Super dark fruit, guessing there's merlot in this. Tasty !

Definite dark cherry. My bottle was well balanced. Not too acidic or tannin forward. Would love to drink this again. I always do well with Montepulciano.

A gift bottle left by the host in Trequanda. Better than it needed to be.
