Revisiting this wine once back home from the winery. Deep ruby coloration. On the nose, dark cherry, blackberry, black currants, spice, tobacco, vanilla and earthiness. On the palate, full bodied, plum, currants, cherry, and anise, followed by secondary flavors of oak, blueberry, minerals, coffee, and chocolate in the finish. Tannins very strong still. Needs to decant some. Will revisit in a few hours. Same notes but fuller bodied and softer and velvety on the palate.

vino nobile aged in new oak and then bottles for 3 years. Dark ruby coloration. On the nose, dark cherry, vanilla, minerality. On the palate, rich and full bodied, dark cherry, chocolate, coffee, and a long finish of same. Strong tannins - good aging potential. With a meal it’s well balanced between fruit and secondary notes from the French oak. Long, long finish.
