Chardonnay
Wow. This is revelatory. Ridiculous wine. Like elite St. Aubin 1er Cru from Lamy or PYCM. Nose is completely and utterly unique and original. Smells like no other Chardonnay but definetly smells like it comes from Germany. As it should. Insanely complex nose of spices, flowers, a hint of the most discreet wood ever, but it adds so much. Lifts all the other aromas. Really lifts the florals which are super pungent and detailed. What a nose. 9.5/9.6. Sickness. Palate is insane awesomeness. It has it all. Texture, freshness, depth, huge minerality and a big core that suggests mid term aging potential. The finish is like a mile long. This is so energetic, so detailed, so linear and so German. Revelatory. Omg what texture and it is so so juicy. Fruit is lean. Some ripe apples and pears but also hints of apricot. So good.

Aug 5th, 2020Sickness. Just an amazing wine. Nose smells like elite St. Aubin or boss Meursault. Floral, hint of butter, blast of limestone. Beeswax. So so good amazingly pure. So so aromatic. Just blasts your nostrils. Ripe but also so many cooling minerals. Complex, juicy and so ripe. So pure. Chardonnay drop. Long finish. Just pure pleasure.

Vanilla lemon frosted cookie, smokey bacon, butterscotch, toasted hazelnut, coconut shavings, jasmine, lilac.
Rich elements but with a thick vein of acid, so as not opulent in any way.

This is a serious Chardonnay that will outshine many Chardonnay wines at double its price. Should visit Rheinhessen soon to meet the winemakers, curious to hear their thoughts on winemaking with non traditional German grapes
