Dark, clear ruby. Wildly aromatic nose of violets and black cherries. Medium bodied palate echoes the nose flipping the primaries and adding a hint of vanilla and a smaller hint of tarry anise. Low tannins. Medium plus acidity. McMinnville’s Hyland Vineyard struts its dark floral stuff in this classic Willamette PN. Pair with equally classic fare: ham, pork tenderloin, duck, and of course, Pacific salmon. Drink now through 2029, when it develops into a more savory offering.

Dec 23rd, 2020Love the juicy cherry fruit along with some raspberry notes. Black pepper makes a cameo but doesn't detract from the roundness of this wine. Single vineyard deliciousness that blew away the Marsannay we had last week.
