Willamette Valley Pinot Gris 2018

Green pear, golden apple, clean stone notes, and a little alcohol heat come through on this one. Very well balanced with the exception of the heat, and could use a bit more brightness. Quite fantastic with a simple chicken dish. Easy to drink and a great option to introduce folks to the Pac NW Pinot Gris style. — a month ago

Aux Réas Vosne-Romanée Pinot Noir 2011

No greenies or acidic expression for this ‘11. Red fruits, some loamy aspects with soft mouthfeel and moderate length. Was a pleasant surprise owing to the vintage. Kudos to A Gros! — 8 days ago

Terra Alta Garnacha Blanca

Absolutely loved this - On board Delta One’s curated wine list flying over the Pacific, this paired perfectly with the Succulent Salmon: even at the cabin pressure altitude of 8K feet, the complexity, lightness and fantastic finish of this wine was on point. An easy drinking Chard that has a touch of butter and citrus, but dances lightly on your palette - it’s a smooth touchdown with each sip. Kudos to Delta for having this available, and much love to the stewardess who opened a second bottle for me - can’t wait to sample this on the ground to enjoy again at home. — 22 days ago

Chianti Sangiovese 2017

Nice deep Ruby colored wine with lovely clean aromas of red cherry and some mint and vegetal. The Colorino blending grape is contributing to this wine's lovely color, along with adding structure. I get the Sangiovese smell upfront and upon opening up, the cab comes through. I wouldn't have thought this was 90% Sangiovese and love this blend. Lingering tannins that stay on your upper lip. KUDOS to this organic wine maker. Will pair well with heavier pasta dishes and red meat dishes. — 24 days ago

Reserve Blended Scotch Whisky

Golden raisin, strawberries, figs, cut red apple, sweet potato, lemon-dill, oregano, smoke and an almost sweet peat smell as sherry shoulders in. Orange is the backbone, from pure squeezed, to zest, oil and pith. Toast, cedar, humidor, and nougats with roasted almond and cashew from the oak. Very smooth and sensuous mouthfeel with immediate expansion of vanilla, mocha, toffee, and finally a shimmering cinnamon with tiny sparks of heat. Secondary voices of pencil, oregano, crepe caramel, lemon peel, shaved chocolate, buffalo grass that burns into a long finish, with jalapeño-turned-peat. This is extraordinary. I know they are coopering their own barrels on site, and I think it is making a fine whisky even finer. Kudos for this magical glory. — 19 days ago
