Areti Red Agiorgitiko

Regardless of how dark a grape is, island/hot coastal wine regions in that part of the world (Greece and Italy, Spanish and French islands, etc). Always seem to have a fresh minerality to them. Black tea, currants, dry, dry, dry. Very dark, but all freshened up by that island minerality.

Nose is not strong, faintly fruity with a peppery overtone. Flavor: blackberry with strong astringent tannins... Pepper persists and strengthens thru long linger. Complements strong foods well. Pleasant enough, but not a sipping wine in its own right.

Thick with tannins and determined to coat every crevice of your palate with lovely, meaty funk!

Very smooth and wonderful ! Probably the best Agiorgitiko ever ..

Would have called Syrah if I didn’t know better. This was smooth, bit of meaty funk, totally integrated. Re-opened 2 nights later and it got even better.

Deep purple color.
Aromas of black fruit, herbal.
Dry. Flavors of black cherry, blackberry, floral, tar. Rich!, chewy tannins.

Smells of earth and dark fruit. Tastes of blueberry, vanilla. So yummy and interesting.
