20 Year Old Porto

Closing out the weekend with a 20yr old Kopke port...

Really excellent 20 year tawny from kopke. Have port so rarely, but it’s always appreciated. Not the most depth or intensity, but still absolutely delicious and a great pairing with dessert.

Bottled in 2016, fresh as milk. Burnt sugar, molasses, great acidity...initial heat after pop n pour, burns off after a few days. Lovely work.

Butterscotch, orange marmalade, and honey-preserved walnuts on the nose. Similar notes on the palate, along with a bitter nut skin note on the finish that holds the score down a bit.
