This is a special bottle (and a gift from the winemaker). Nose leans earthy. It’s lush, with lots of dark fruit and finishes with the return of the earthy notes. Just a super delicious wine.

At first I thought this might be over the hill, but 30 minutes in the glass brought out red dark fruit. Could pass for a ripe Pomerol maybe? I haven’t loved a lot of 1997 Napa wines, but this was quite nice.
