2008: The overriding impression of the nose was smoky mezcal, no matter how many times I went back to the well. A silky almost glossy quality to the fruit. Most likely VA driving the nose, yet I imagine it's simply this bottle.

Wow. Big. Sweet black fruits, chocolate, espresso, pepper, and some briny olive with anise and baking spices. Wonderfully integrated tannins with nice acid and pepper on a loooong finish. Decanted about 20min before first glass but got better and better. Bravo. More please!

For the price, I was pick pocketed. Love their Chards and the Judge is the bomb but outside of the Chards, never could understand their reds. Sorry, just trying to keep it real.
