My first white wine of my annual CC hosting.
I had three of these to start the year, and this was my last one. There was no willpower to age these after I tasted the first one. Thankfully I’ve got the ‘21s on the way (which I was able to taste with Travis at his place this summer…load up)!
If someone made a candle of these aromatics, I’d be your biggest customer. Tangerine, orange marmalade, and honeyed stone fruits explode from the glass. Oily and viscous on the palate, so commanding in flavor (juicy yellow fruits) but it’s hard to believe the balance/brightness and the mineral streak at the end. It takes the best part of high end Cali Chardonnay and marries it with the best part of white Rhône blends. Undeniably the greatest WA state white I’ve ever had. Still drinking this one but so far I like it. Thicker mouthful, started off not quite as chilled as I would have preferred. Still drinking this one so my rating may change.
