A wifey favorite. A touch woody and spicy on the nose and palate. Overall, decadent, plush and just plain approachable. We think we are the only peeps on DL quaffing this gem.

Just so smooth and linear. Drinking perfectly now. Serve it at cellar temp...

The nose is overloaded with kirsch, campfire and coffee notes. Palate displays deep extraction and sweetness, but lacks complexity. It’s somewhat one-dimensional, but that dimension is good, nonetheless. Good black fruit profile on the mid-palate, with a sweet, viscous finish. We’re happy at the $49 price.
Easter is on the horizon!

Heck ya! This wine was killer for a young '14! (Wasn't able to snap a picture of the '14 in time before the '13 was brought out) Someone mentioned that they thought it was like blueberries soaked in vanilla alcohol, and while that probably conjures up a bad image, it works perfectly on the tongue. This wine is kicking at a young age and is probably best enjoyed now through the next 5 years.

Total beast. Oak dominates at this point with brown sugar and vanilla on the nose and palate. Edges out some really nice dark blue fruit. Bigger fruit would really help IMO. Will be way better in a couple of years when things balance out. Very good deal for $90ish. Should have bought the -13 last week when my local store had it!
